Improve existing PhoneGap/JavaScript application

We have a PhoneGap/JavaScript iPhone+Android application that is currently being tested by 50+ users. Based on testers' feedback we need to improve on several UI elements, like button sizes, font sizes, add progress indicators, pop up messages. Also we plan to add extensions, e.g. push notifications.
The app is a front-end to an extensive timetable/schedule REST API. It is built from a modular MVC architecture based on Backbonejs, Requirejs, Jquery with Bootstrap and custom CSS as the UI framework. The app can be developed/debugged using the Chrome dev tools and your preferred JavaScript editor, and then deployed on an actual phone device using ready-made build scripts.
You will start with a small task of max. 1 day effort. If we like your work we will extend for more project work.
Your tasks
* implement changes based on testers' feedback and as agreed with UI designer
* extend the app as per agreed requirements
* write unit tests using Appium and/or Jasmine
Your skills
* demonstrated extensive experience implementing modular apps using JavaScript/Requirejs/Jquery and Phonegap/Cordova
* please provide your sample app's source code or github link to respective reference work -- no app store links accepted
* open minded, flexible, independent, fast learner
* you have worked with github and pull requests before
* experience with Apple and Google app submission process a plus
* experience with build tools like Grunt, Bower and Python/Fabric a plus, since that's what our build infrastructure is using
