Help with some KO changes in custom Magento2 module

Ive made a Magento 2 module which adds a block below the shipping address. This block is connected to a KnockoutJs script which has a condition to check if the user is logged in or if it is a guest, this works fine.
I have enabled the Date of Birth attribute for customer, but i have made it NOT required (when it is required, all my customers get redirected to the accounts page to input it and it is causing a reduction in sales)
what i need :
- If its a guest, disable the "next" button (the button that takes you to the payments screen in the checkout) untill the user selects a date of birth that makes them over 18
- If its alogged in customer who has not got a date of birth-assigned then disable the "next button" until they choose one, and when they do and proceed with there order it saves that date of birth to there account
- in my custom module, if the user has a date of birth in the normal Magento date of birth attribute then dont show the block at all
Ive already made the module and got the block showing on the checkout, it also knows if the customer is logged in or not. I just need the 3 points above added to the module.
