employment type: Part-Time We are a well established bay area plumbing contractor looking to fill the temporary role of Accounting Assistant and Service Support. We are looking for reliable candidates with great communication skills that enjoy working at their best capacity. This individual reports directly to the Controller. This role involves bookkeeping, construction project administration duties and Service Department support. The successful candidate must be willing to learn and develop proficiency in Sage accounting software. Training in this software will be provided, but experience is recommended. Qualifications: Prior training and experience in bookkeeping or accounting Proficiency in MS Office programs; solid knowledge of Excel is required Proficiency with accounting software; knowledge of Sage Contractor 100 software is preferred, but not required Knowledge of commonly used bookkeeping concepts, practices and procedures in small business bookkeeping Experience in constructing bookkeeping or accounting is a plus Experience in direct customer service Motivated, organized, detail-oriented and self-starting Ability to independently excel and be productive Reliable and dedicated to the success of the team Ability to work well on team projects Understanding of confidentiality requirements Willingness and ability to be cross-trained in and take on a variety of tasks Duties and Responsibilities: Entering payable invoices Entering deposits Service Department AR and collections Initial dispute resolution with Service Clients Completing and submitting weekly Service Department collections reports Payroll Assistance - employee time card review and entry Bi-weekly and monthly report preparation - payroll taxes and workers compensation Credit card reconciliation Filing preliminary notices Maintaining and tracking liens Maintaining Certificates of Insurance Preparing and sending contract invoicing Filing and organizing Resolving disputes and overcharges with suppliers Keeping current list of employees with purchase authorization at all suppliers Service Department phone and admin support Vehicle Maintenance scheduling and tracking Permit management - pulling, tracking, inspection scheduling Additional projects as assigned by Management

Hello, I have over 25 years experience in all aspects of accounting, 8 of which were as a Corporate Controller in a public company and another 4 years of Controller work in a multi-national solar power company. I managed the entire payroll start to finish for over 10 years, have extensive experience in AP/AR/GL management and more. I have not used Sage but I am very tech savvy & usually do not have trouble learning new applications. I also have experience in construction accounting. I have been working with an Indian KPO , which takes care of accounting and other needs of a real estate company based in USA. I am familiar with Sage as I have been part of team responsible for doing entries in Sage for , PO, Invoicing, DCs, Renovation confirmations etc. I also do the GL, bank reconcilations, payroll etc for the same concern. Various reporting requirements of management and audit team are also catered to by us. I am in the field of accounts for 15 years but always keen to learn new things and deliver the best out of it. I would like to know the deadline and the weekly working hours and also any specific hours of the day required.
