7 GHz Synthesizer PCB Design -- 2

I already have the PLL/VCO core defined—our board will lift that portion straight from the Analog Devices ADF4372 / ADF4356 evaluation schematics—so the real task lies in crafting the 7.0 – 7.5 GHz output chain and turning the whole concept into a manufacturable four-layer Rogers 4350B PCB inside Altium Designer. The RF path needs to be clean, 50 Ω, and production-ready, with any filtering, buffering, or gain-staging you judge necessary to deliver a spectrally pure, repeatable signal. All the usual high-frequency layout disciplines apply: controlled-impedance traces, via fencing, tight reference-plane management, and rigorous power-supply decoupling. On top of that, I have three non-negotiables for the layout: • Thermal management for the PLL, VCO, and any active output-chain parts • Proven signal-integrity practices from the VCO pads right out to the SMA edge launch • Solid power-delivery design so the synthesizer meets phase-noise specs across load and temperature Deliverables I will review and sign off on: • Complete Altium Designer project (schematic, PCB, libraries) • Clearly annotated RF output-chain schematic with component values, footprints, and reference design equations • Final Gerbers, drill files, and stack-up notes for Rogers 4350B fabrication • BOM with manufacturer part numbers and at least one in-stock source per item • Brief design report summarising key calculations, simulated S-parameters, and expected output power/phase-noise performance I will handle final bench validation; your design should be ready for turnkey fab and assembly.
