Hello, First of all I'd like to say it's very nice to find people that are working on these type of projects, not only do they bring a challenging task to developers but it allows for the creation of algorithms that can be truly useful for many applications. I myself have vast experience building Python applications using OpenCV, and running them in mobile devices, computer and boards like the Raspberry Pi. My approach would be to develop a machine learning algorithm using neural networks that can create a multi-factorial evaluation criteria to single out specific features of the fish in order to determine with the utmost certainty one type from the other.
