Windows file property handler with qt

I have developed a dll to register a file extension for thumbnail preview and property handler, it uses qt core and XML to read/write to compressed XML file
There are two issues
1 windows explorer crashes after registering the dll on win 64 os
2 the 32 dll does not work on win 64, it does not read file properties and gives unspecified error 80004005 when writing new values, it also does not get registered on win32
The development is almost done, I am looking for someone with experience in this area to fix the above issues
