I am building a pergola from reclaimed materials. For a building permit from the council I need engineering drawings (what ever they are?). The pergola will be 6 metres by 5 metres. I have 4 steel trusses which will make a gable roof, they will be supported by jarah beams which will be held up by jarah posts which will be on top of galvanised stirrups cemented into the ground. The roof material (probably poly carbonate) will be attached to the trusses with timber batons. One end will be attached to the house which is a double brick wall. If any one is willing to take this on I can supply more details about the materials and the design.
