Change built in plugin from template into standalone plugin

I have a theme with an events calender plugin. The thing is it is built in to the theme and I want to extract it so it can be installed with any theme. I want the calender to work the exact same way as it does in the original theme. Once I select an employee I will give you access to all the theme files.
