Community Portal Project

We are looking to urgently appoint a Website Design and Development partner to develop a major Community Portal for a UK project we have won. The Portal is due to go live in September of 2009 and will focus on the provision of Education and Community information and resources. In addition, the portal will also provide:- 1) Employment/Jobs Directory (with paid for advertising of jobs, fully searchable by skil, area etc. etc.- On-Line ordering) 2) Business/Services Directory (with Categorised and fully searchable free and paid for listings - On-Line ordering) 3) Community Discussion Forum In addition, either immediately or in the future (depending on costs etc.) the portal will also provide:- 1) Property Sales Directory (with categorised, fully searchable free and paid For listings - On-Line ordering) 2) Motor Sales Directory (with categorised, fully searchable Paid for advertising - On-Line ordering) 3) Social Networking The portal "content" (including the above directories) will be displayed within scrollable window, which will be contained within an outer "framework" which will remain consistent in look/feel regardless of what area of the portal a visitor is in (i.e. Education, Communication, Jobs etc. etc.) and will be required to carry paid for advertising and sponsorship panels/banners and we will be using the Formfields Adman product ([login to view URL]) to manage this and the protal will therefore need to integrate cleanly with it. The portal will initially be launched in one area of the UK and then rolled out nationally. As such, it needs to have a clear and stable structure and design that can be quickly and easily branded for each new town/area we roll it out to. The portal will require a fully functional and easy to use content management system that will enable us and selected contributors to input/update content as and when necessary. We will need to be able to restrict the level of access to the CMS given to external contributors and also have the ability to "authorise" content submissions before they go live on the site. The proposes basic content structure of the portal is shown in the attached pdf. This initial project represents a genuine oppoortunity for on-going work and partnership as we continue to enhance and develop the portal and roll it out to other areas in the UK.
