I'm conducting a study on the number of projects posted per day on Freelancer and Upwork - need the help of a Freelancer to scrape this data. I am non-technical but have been advised the best way to do this is via a macro which scrapes the underlying code. If you have a better way, please suggest. The ultimate goal is to get a reliable estimate of the number of projects posted in a month - both for Freelancer and Upwork. I am open to suggestions on how best to do this (you may have a better idea than me). The tricky part is that once a project is accepted it seems to disappear from the marketplace (i.e. it no longer shows up in the 'browse projects' tab). Therefore, scraping for the projects which remain in the 'browse projects' tab excludes a signficant number of projects which were posted, accepted but subsequently disappeared from view. One solution may be to run a real-time web scrape so that we catch all projects BEFORE they get accepted and disappear from view. For example, if we can accurately scrape for the number of projects posted a 1 hour period, and take several similar 1 hour samples, this will help me build up an accurate picture of the monthly project flow. As I'm non-technical I would like to be handed a macro which is easy for me to reuse again (i.e. press a button - no coding required by me), so that I can continue to run the scrape in future without the help of a freelancer. I am willing to pay for two separate elements: 1) A scrape which helps me arrive at an accurate estimate of total no of projects POSTED in Freelancer and Upwork (ideally accurate data for a whole month, or if this is not possible, accurate data for a 1 hour period) 2) There would be a 50% bonus if you can accurately help me scrape for the number of projects which got ACCEPTED over the same 1 month period. Did you see "TOTAL JOBS POSTED" counter at the bottom of the each page on Freelancer.com? I believe this counter is what do you need. Thanks. Are there any categories in particular? I would recommend scraping every 15 minutes as this will catch 99% of projects before they are awarded. Once the project is scraped, the web address can be recorded and revisited to check if it has been awarded. Look forward to hearing from you.
