Data Change Notification

I would like a very small application to display new data and? data? updates like change of? status filed from "NEW" to "WORKING"? in a listview control similar to Microsoft Outlook. For Example: 1. I have a ListView control with list of Tasks assigned to me. 2. My Manager has assigned more tasks -- Should be added to my task list. 3. My manager has assigned one ore more tasks from my task list to other user.? My task list status field should be updated as "Assigned to Userx" and I sould not be allow to checkout that task to work on. Important: I dont want to use timer control and keep checking the database.? This should be like PUSH mechanism, not PULL.? Any updates to my tasks in the ListView shoud be updated only if there is any data changes. Let me know if you need more clarification.
