**Q1- Members of the plane structure shown in the figure below may be bars pinned together at joints to create a truss or beams rigidly connected together at joints to create a frame. Investigate how much difference there is between the truss model and the frame model. Assume that all members have a square cross section, units on side. Let = 1.20 m, = 1.60 m, and = 1.0 kN. Consider the cases = 0.05 m and = 0.25 m. Assume = 210 GPa,

**Q2 ??" Use the plane stress element to analyse the cantilever beam of I-section shown below. Compare your results (stress distribution on the section near the fixed support and the deflection at the loading point) with those obtained using the bending theory of beams. Discussion are made for two cases of L = 400 mm and L = 200 mm. Use E = 210 GPa and n = 0.3.

coder need to use **_Comsol_** software for analysing question 2. which i don't know where coder can get that from.
