Autcomplete functionality like google search

I have a website on the LAMP stack where basically you type in a phrase & at the end of the phrase you tag it like twitter ie. #somephrase

All of these phrases '#phrase' are stored in a table in a MySQL Database. I want it so when they start typing #abc, it will query the phrases stored in the SQL database & make suggestions so they can either carry on typing or select one of the suggestions, like how google search sugesstions work.
