We have been asked by our clients to redo an existing website. The website is currently in Joomla and needs to be redone in LAMP and with enhanced features. The site in question is : [login to view URL] or DDM for short DDM is a directory site that currently offers anyone planning to do business in UAE with addresses and phone numbers of companies in various market segments. The data is updated on a quarterly basis and uploaded in the site as excel files. These excel files are available to buyers. DDM also offers other services like SMS broadcast, emailing etc. Vendors can visit the site and check details for themselves. The task in hand is to redo DDM with the following objectives: 1. DDM owners want to move away from manual update of data to online collection of data. Meaning that companies should be able to put their details in the DDM database using an online form. The entry in the directory will not be free and charged via paypal. 2. DDM owners also want to move away from manual uploading of excel files for sales. Since the data collection will be online, the excel files for buyers should be generated on the fly thus ensuring the buyers get nothing less than the most updated data in DDM database. The data extraction should be based on various parameters. 3. The vendor will also be responsible for importing the current 500,000 excel records into the database. 4. RSS readers should be included to show latest business news from selected feeds. 5. Everything else in the site will remain the same. Besides the above core deliverables other aspects of website are as follows: 1. The site should be CMS based. 2. Admin should have access to back end to change prices of various services. 3. Adequate provision should be made for SEO functions like keywords, meta tags etc. 4. Admin should be able to manage content on various pages. 5. Admin should also be able to add hidden content for SEO purposes. 6. The site needs to be redesigned.
