Customizing X-cart storefront, PHP Commerce shopping cart software

We need the X-cart Gold, PHP shopping cart software package (currently using) to have the look and feel of a customized e-commerce site. Extensive knowledge or experience with modifications to PHP based shopping cart software a must. Graphic design experiences an added plus. You can view our current page here: <[login to view URL]> This project is essentially just tweaking X-cart and changing the appearance from “[login to view URL],?? style to simple and clean. Basically it is most important to make the site pleasing to look at, enable the customer to find things on our site quickly & allow the customer to check-out without any difficulties (i.e drop the login screen on main pg). In addition it’s critical our site pops up on most keyword searches as we sell many hard to find and specific items. Because we don’t have thousands of items for sale we want to present what we do have with our high quality photos. This should be a fairly basic project for those of you who are familiar with X-cart or PHP. **We have a few specific requests (see deliverables) but the bulk of the work will be tweaking the appearance. ** ## Deliverables **Our goals for this project:** 1. We are using a shared SSL cert <!-- --> 1. Customize details page for Watches. Changing layout, image positions & thumbnail size. 1. We would like an image side bar similar to: <[login to view URL]>. If possible we would like the center image to change when the customer scrolls over the side thumbs. Size thumb size 150 pixel width, center image 600 pixel width. 2. Thumbnails on main category page for watches needs to be 240 pixel width (150 current) <!-- --> 1. Customize details page for watch bands 1. Pictures of bands need to be presented attractively 2. We need easy to understand dimensions section for band detail pages. i. *All needed information is in database 1. Build search tool for bands (see example on competitors site: <[login to view URL]>). We need something similar so our customers can quickly find the watch band they are looking for. This should be rather easy. <!-- --> 1. Re-design main category page for ‘watches.’ Just need basic quick links at the top of page to take customers immediately to the brand, style or price range they are looking for. Maybe use a dropdown menu for brand and buttons to sort by price (high/low) or newest first (like e-bay?) <!-- --> 1. Full re-design of main index page including, re-locate categories to top bar, remove login display (if possible), redesign of logo, design main page to have high quality appearance and activate x-cart advertising on main page. 1. We would like the ad on the main page to change every 20 seconds or so and be around 600 pixel width <!-- --> 1. Add to main categories, watch boxes & winders, watch restoration, sell your watch, tutorials, learning center. 1. Sell your watch needs to have an e-form for the customer to fill in and if possible some type of an upload feature so they can upload the picture of their watch. Where the entire form will be forwarded directly to our e-mail. 2. Boxes & winders page is an item category, just like watches & bands. 3. Learning center & tutorials needs to be a basic empty page that we can add html articles to. However you want to lay it out so we can update it quickly and easily using dreamweaver (cut & past into x-cart) 4. Watch restoration needs to just be a blank page so we can fill in our html text & photos. **We would like to keep the header & navigation buttons at the top of each page** 1. Enable keyword search and add meta tags or other method to ensure we popup on main search engines. 2. Setup e-mail addresses for our employees 3. Ensure site is ready to go live.
