Design and Build a Website

Note: This is a non-for-profit-website, consider that when bidding. Also do not make copy-and-paste generic bids. Let your bid be tailored to our needs. Please read the write-up carefully. Also note that we want to work with someone who can also think and give input into this idea. We know what we want and the general idea is straight, but details might change as development starts. Please include testing and debugging time in bid-time, also specify timeline, milestones, and a list of things you will require from us. We want the project to be collaborative (good communication). All accounts that might be needed will be opened with an email which I will provide, we will own any extension/theme etc you have to buy, and such must be bought with our email that I will provide. Happy bidding!!! Project Summary: This is website dedicated to informing Nigerians about Political news specifically election matters on the upcoming 2015 general elections in Nigeria. Access control will be important in this project as different volunteers will run the site. Technologies: A CMS, preferably Joomla is to be used. Any other programme with a combination of php/mysql/css/html can be used. Bidders should state expressly what technologies they will deploy. Platform: A website that is mobile compatible. Cross Platform, Cross Browser Project Details: The website will be a standard news/information website, many examples online e.g. cnn, fox new, daily mail, etc Text/Pictures/photo-journals/videos (linked to YouTube) can all be shared. Polls will be available weekly, and old polls go to archive. There will be many categories/tags in the website, and users will have different access levels. We will have a page where users can register as volunteers to be journalist/photojournalist/authors/editors/sponsors/partner website/media partner/ journalist/photojournalist/authors can write articles/post videos/pictures etc editors register their details and can edit posts and approve for publishing Sponsors register their details and get a sponsorship dashboard with info on how to sponsor. Google adsense slots will be available as an alternative way to generate funding for the project. The module will be turned off, and wil be only used if other funding means fails There will be a marketplace where we will have information on how/where to buy our branded tshirts/ wrist bands etc and how to be a reseller. Partner media/website and get a dashboard where they can download different ads images, video ads, rss feeds etc Regular stuffs like TOS/Disclaimers/Privacy Policy will be there. If Joomla, security will be important, so bidders should specify how to do that. Akeeba should be installed for weekly backup jobs.
