I have a database that manages different data sets hierarchically organised (treeview).
Each data set has its table.
The tree structures are gathered in a treedata table, with data such 'dataset','N', 'fatherN', 'isHidden'
isHidden allows to show/hide nodes.
Some elements are computed such as depth in the tree, outline header (with a 1.1.1.1... pattern), reading order
Current code :
a- verify tree structures (especially detect cycles),
b- calculate node attributes depth, reading order and outline header,
c- move a node in the tree without having to recalculate all the node attributes
d- display the tree in a web browser (javascript initialized by xml document generated from the database),
e- display a segment of the tree
f- create reports using tree structure and data of the dataset
The architecture is iis, with access, VB, asp.
I'm reconsidering the way the overall application works (scripting language, browser treeview component, etc.), but at this point my main concern is moving to another database such as Sql Server and later to mySQL
I need to get the current code rewritten for a-, b-, c- and the queries for f- so as to
improve code quality and speed,
support sqlServer and mySQL
Deliverable will include a treeview 'controler' in order to check tree operations (basic treeview activeX in Access form will do, but any other solution is fine as long as it shows tree structure and node attributes ).
Operations that will be tested will be :
1) recalculate tree attributes and check tree struture
2) move a node or a branch in the tree
3) filter nodes using the isHidden attribute
4) generate xml file (.xsl provided)
Code is written in visual basic with a mix of french and english. French language is a bonus but not necessary.
Sample database and existing scripts can be transmitted for tuning of proposals.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
