We request an application that fetches all contacts and email addresses from the client computer and communicates with our site through web services. The application is fairly small and will be downloaded in no time. It will look like a standard Windows or OS X application with significant illustrations to every button. [login to view URL] has a similar type of application called openBC plugin. It can be downloaded for free from their site. A form with three buttons is presented. First one being ‘Fetch contacts’ meaning that the application will search through your computer for contacts and email addresses. The other one being ‘Update contacts against site’ which means that the application will send the previously fetched contacts to our site. Third one being ‘Edit contacts’ which present an excel like interface where you can add, edit and remove contacts and contact information. The second mentioned button, ‘Update contacts against site’, is inactive until you have fetched contacts for the first time. The fetched contacts are stored onto the computer, which means the user can close down the application, restart it and thereafter upload or edit the contacts without being obligated to fetch all contacts once again. It fetches all the addresses from the address book and all ‘From’, ‘Cc:s’ and ‘Bcc:s’ from your incoming as well as your outgoing mails. The application comes in two different versions, one for most common used version of both Windows and OS X. It can read the emails and address book from following applications: • Microsoft Outlook • Microsoft Outlook Express • Microsoft Exchange • Mac Mail • Mozilla Thunderbird • Lotus Notes
