My Canadian portal site <[login to view URL]> has become faily popular over the years. I have tried to create the frontpage into a news source, getting people to submit news stories and others commenting. But it hasn't gone so well, not enough people are willing to help post and write articles so the frontpage news is slow and out of date.
So I want to take it in a slightly different direction, I want it to be a useful place to get any news related to Canada. But i want to display it in a way like <[login to view URL]> or <[login to view URL]>. Would be pretty much the same idea and layout as that, where users can submit links daily, hopefuly getting much more input. I would like this new script to if possible intigrate with the existing phpnuke site.
I know php fairly well, but simply do not have the time right now to do this, but the site really needs it. So i will be able to assist a certain amount with the project if need be. I would like the code to be well commented so i can make changes later on if I need too.
Other requirments:
ability for admins to quicly delete posts (red x beside post maybe)
field to post a link to related forum topic or possible have the script create a forum topic by the same name if a checkbox is selected, or create a forum topic when the first comment is made to the post. (I would like to use the existing forum as the comment system)
Output the posts as RSS for other sites to syndicate.
