Blackberry - Auto Detect Type of Network Access

This may be for advanced Blackberry developers. As you know, Blackberries may use Blackberry Internet Service or Blackberry Enterprise Server. Further, they may or may not have TCP Access configured. We have a native application that uses HTTP or a TCP socket to communicate with a back end application. Note, this is not a browser application. 3rd party applications need to programmatically match the type of network access the blackberry is configured for ( BIS/BES/TCP). Today, we have our users configure the WAP access gateway IP/port/APN manually if they are on BIS. This requires them to do some research with their carrier, which delays use of the application. This information is already available in the Service Books of the Blackberry ( WAP, TCP) etc. One application that I have seen do auto detection of the type of network access configured on the device is the Viigo RSS Reader for Blackberry ( [login to view URL] . This is a free trial download) I would like a sample application that does a similar auto-detection of the type of network access and other ancillary information like TCP configurations. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
