We have an Access DataBase with two tables defined, the ATable and the SourcesTable. We want to define two new columns in the ATable such that their values are automatically taken from the SourcesTable. The ATable has a field called “Source??; its values can be repeated, however they all correspond to a value in the SourcesTable’s “Source?? field. (The values of Source in the SourcesTable are unique.) We want Access to display in ATable the “Category?? and “Relevant?? fields that correspond to the given source and which can be looked up in the SourcesTable. For example “ZZZ?? is a Source field value in ATable; if you look up this value in the SourcesTable you will find its Category is “Politics?? and its Relevant field has “Yes??; we want the new ATable to display “Politics?? and “yes?? in all rows where “ZZZ?? appears.
This project consists in providing detailed instructions as to how to change the current ATable so that it will look like the table shown in the attached New_ATable.xls.
Please see attached Excel files for the samples of the tables used in this database and which are referred to in this specifications.
We do not need you to send us a database that implements the required functionality; we just need instructions, preferably by means of a sequence of screen shots, as to how to accomplish the desired results.
The New_ATable will not be part of the database; we want ATable changed, not a new table. The file “[login to view URL]? is attached just to convey the idea of what we want ATable to look like when we implement the solution.
We do not want queries, reports or any other element to implement this solution; it has to be ATable by itself that implements this, just by opening it.
