I am currently writing a Teleprompter programme in Visual Basic 6 for the college TV Studios I work in. For anyone who doesn't know what a TelePrompter is for/does, it basically takes your text version of a TV programmes script and displays it in large characters on a black screen with the text rolling up the screen so that your presenter can read it.
The basics of the software are there now, however there are a couple of things I'd like to change/add. These are:
a) Currently the programme works using Plain Text only. It ideally needs to work with Rich Text OR have some way of underlining and/or highlighting particular words.
b) I am rather new to VB programming and my code is probably quite messy, so it would be good to tidy it up if only to make the software run faster.
c)There are one or two bits that I haven't finished and need finishing (for example: The print command to print out hard copies of the script, all rich-text formatting commands (colours, underlines etc))
The software needs to be completely student-proof so very easy to understand and use.
I should also point out that the software needs to be able to cope with an unlimited length text file for the scrolling window and the rich text formating needs to be displayed in the scroll as well. Currently the code for scrolling the text only works because it uses a fixed-width-font. I would like it if ANY font could be used in this display, including taking into account any rich-text formatting. The programme is also designed to work on a dual-monitor system with the main programme window on the primary monitor and the scrolling text on the second monitor.
