The main aim of the project is to write software that will teach the basics of Java programming to students who have no Java programming experience or any programming experience. The program will make use of a “learn by doing?? method and will incorporate multiple choice features. The system will lay down interactive java examples which will enable students to learn the basics. The project will be soft-wired i.e. after it is built, later on, at any time new examples could be added, removed or modified. The project will also keep a track of the students using the software and their progress. Just to expand on what i have said above, the project will have a series of examples (in this project just 5 or 6 is sufficient to demonstrate what the project does) with missing fragments of code. Each missing fragment of code in the example will have 4 options. The students will have to select the correct option and put it in the place. After filling in the missing fragments of code, the student can then compile the program to check for compilation errors. If there are any errors, the student would need to correct it by picking another option from the list. Once he gets the program running, he can then see what the output is like on the screen. A test program (only for 2 programs is sufficient) will be written for each example that will test all the methods in the example. This is what the whole project is all about. The students can learn Java by filling in the missing fragments of code. The administrator can add, delete and modify examples and can check students progress whereas students can just interact with the examples and view their own scores. The project will be web-based in any programming language and using Databases (SQL, Oracle) for keeping track of the students. It will also require real time compilation on the screen. The students can see the compilation when compiling the program and any compilation errors for Java examples.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
Could be built by using ASP.net or PHP. The examples to be used in the program will be sent when the project is started.
