Hey there! I have already developed the same app in which you put a square device in the audio jack then we read the magnetic tape of the card and according to the sound convert it into a bytes which can be converted into a string. If you want i can show you the app i have made, I even have the device which i imported from china(card reader) and have already made the sdk to read the card. I can show you on a skype call or a video. About me, I am a senior android consultant at a netherlands based firm, I have just started freelancing to earn extra bucks, and honestly its just my 4th project on freelancing, I usually work at nights and can deliver you within couple of days, and will be available for changes for 7 days.
