Amend existing Androïd application - DTMF support for telephony

Hi,
I have an existing application (java) which needs to be amended so that an existing button triggers the following behavior:
=> Launch the dialler application with a specific telephone number (the application already has the telephone number value)
=> When the user presses the "dial" button the telephone number is dialled, then there is a 4 seconds pause and then a specific PIN is sent (the application already has the PIN value)
The previous developer could not manage to get the dialler application to pause and then send the DTMF string (PIN code for an audio-conference).
This is doable as applications such as "Conference caller" from IT-System Syd on the Androïd market does it.
