With dimentions (3.26" OD, 2.996" ID, raw length is 122"), material type (AL 6005) analytically determine the lengths to obtain the lowest possible key for musical notes E, G, A, B, D (Japanese Scale). The top of the chime is capped (welded plate to the top) for holding the chime. The Plate is 1/4" thick with a 10-24 UNC hold drilled through. The entire chime will be powder coated. We will mount the chime in its operational configuration and impact it with a Teak Striker (drawing available) from a repetable distance and record the impact and 15 seconds thereafter. From that information, you must help us to tune the chime to the five notes above. I have provided an example audio file of what we will provide to you. This work will start in 4 weeks. From our length measurments and the audio file, you will make estimates of the tube length for each note above. You will advise us as the the strike location (node/anti-node) and advise us on the force to strike the chime (should be represented in distance vs weight of striker). We will make incremental cuts on the chime and provide you with the length/audio file. The program we use to capture the audio is Audacity (free open source audio program).

JIC Engineering Service – Bid on Analytically Tune LARGE Windchimes
I will provide:
a) Initial lengths of double-open-ended tubes to strike and audio record.
b) Recordings analysis to tune all capped (1/4” plate top-mounted) tubes.
c) Advice on strike location (node/antinode); just above/below node.
d) Advice on strike force (distance and mass) of striker.
Cost will be fixed at $261 USD.
This work will take place over three calendar workdays.
Effort is three hours analysis.
No charge is made for set-up preparations, research, clarifications, and communications on this project. Three days of elapsed time is given for consideration. Actual calendar start date is Oct 8th, and finish Nov 15th; three days during this period will account for the three days duration in effort.
