I have configured OPENVPN many times, under many different environments. Any complications that arise, are always due to dynamic IP addresses, or pointing domains to proper addresses. There are services online that can handle dynamic IP addresses if need be.

Why OpenVPN? why not simle IPsec or softether? If you have unix server- then it's most simple case- direct or reverse SSH tunnel. Please, provide me details. will be glad to help you!
