Custom XBMC start-up page

For this project we would like to start an instance of XBMC with a certain background image (with none of the available menu functions that come embedded in the original software). The designated background will contain 4-5 thumbnails, each thumbnail will have a corespondent number (1-5). By pressing on the remote control the number corresponding to a thumbnail, XBMC must play one specified movie, saved on the local drive.
