Copyright details of Web photos

Hi,

I would like to build a website (a blog) about illusions in art. In particular, I would like to write posts regarding the artist M. C. Escher and his works, from time to time.

As I heard, photos of Escher are under copyright limitations, and if someone wants to use them, he should get the permission for that.

IMPORTANT: In my website, I'm not going to sell any Escher's prints or products, I just want to post Escher's pictures with explanations, for educational purposes only.

What do I need?

I need to get answers to the following answers:

1. Do I really need permission from somebody in order to post Escher pictures in my website?

2. (if so) Who holds the copyright?

3. How much does it cost to get the permission to publish Escher pictures in my website?

4. If, as described, I need these pictures for educational purposes only, does it still cost or maybe there is some sort of "free license"?

5. Are there any other limitations I should be aware of, regarding this issue?
