Developing a Project Using a Programming Language

I would use either c++ or java depending upon the form of the data set. Presuming the data set is a flat file I am indifferent. We need an algorithm to convert observer GPS and event GPS to a distance and direction from the event. Then we need to do the comparison algorithm on all observations in an epoch in each directional sector. Presumably the data set covers only one event, otherwise we need some way of identifying the event with which the observation is associated. I have developed several c/c++ and java enterprise applications.

Also I did hardware/software project where I done bootloader and firmware (using AVR ATMega644 MCU). On PC side app was done using Qt - it communicated with MCU using RS232. Bootloader and firmware had about 6,000 lines of code.

Hello, I have lots of experience writing algorithms in c. I'm a physicist and have done a lot of numerical simulations. I know how to use different libraries like gsl, lapack,... or openmp to use multiple core and greatly speed up the program. Best regards, Jure
