Create a software like JING

Hi, I am an OS X and Windows system developer. I do have experience with the screen capture (on OS X I used OpenGL-readbuffer technique in one of my past projects for capturing the desktop video and CGWindow APIs for making still screenshots), on Windows this would be DirectX exporting the surface each frame for video capture and BitBlt for making screenshots. This is the low-level part. The screen capture part would need to be implemented as a library, since it is system-specific. For the UI part I would use Qt which would allow having the same codebase for both systems (the crossplatform part). I have experience with Qt as well. Annotations can be done using Qt on already captured videos/images, and this part can be crossplatform and eventually save time during development. I would be happy to help you with the project.

Hello There! Greetings. I just noticed the link that you have provided and the requirements. I would like to summarize a similar application that I developed in the past, 1. Capture screenshots of the selected/entire area on the screen as an Image file 2. Capture an entire session as a video file once you press a start button until a stop button is pressed 3. This application was developed to capture the activities of employees from a remote server, without the knowledge of the employee in the background by issuing commands from the remote server for start and stop. 4. Once the recording was done the videio/image was transferred to the remote server without the knowledge of the employee working on the PC. I did used Java's screen recording API's to achieve the desired results and since Java is platform independent the same solution will work on any OS viz windows, mac, linux etc. I'm very keen on working on this module too.
