Develop a Corporate Identity for music charity "Keyboard Philharmonic"

A new music charity, the Keyboard Philharmonic, needs a brand identity, especially a logo and colour scheme we can apply to our website. The Keyboard Philharmonic is helping bring Mozart and Beethoven into the 21st century. Specifically, we organise volunteer music-lovers to transcribe public-domain music scores of the great works of classical music and opera, into digital formats which are revisable, reusable, and open. Then we give away the digital scores as public domain works. Music teachers, and amateur performers, benefit from having access to quality music scores in digital form which they can lay out, cut, and merge to their needs. Music students and lovers benefit from being able to study great scores closely as they transcribe and proofread. Plus, these digital scores will become a corpus which encourages the development of digital tools for music analysis and music editing. Think of the Keyboard Philharmonic as "the Gutenberg Project meets Wikipedia and gets to work on music scores". Our target markets are amateur lovers of classical music and opera, who will form our volunteer base and our customer base, and professional musicians, who will be a highly influential customer segment. We love our shared cultural heritage, of which these works are such an important part. That heritage is in danger of withering away if it is not renewed and nurtured. Printed music scores are a proven technology, but a 16th century technology. The 21st century uses digital formats in place of printed books. Through our work we will help this part of our shared cultural heritage take residence in digital formats, where it can participate fully in our digital culture. Because we love our heritage, we want the digital scores we produce to be high quality, worthy representations of the music. We are a community benefit organisation with no profit motive. (Good thing, because giving away products for free as public domain leads to a lousy revenue model.) We are not yet a registered charity (like US 501(c)3), but I expect we will become so in due course. We are operating on a minimal budget. We are based in Vancouver, Canada, but I expect we will get members from anywhere in the world where music-lovers can be found (North America, Europe, Japan, China, etc. etc.). Our team is able to develop the website, apply the corporate identity to the front-end design, and work with graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. I am looking primarily for a logo for the Keyboard Philharmonic. I want it delivered in a format (e.g. vector-based PDF) which I can readily reuse. Secondly I'm looking for a colour palette. Type choices are nice but less important. The first use of the identity will be on our web site. Secondarily we will use the graphics for other digital communication, such as emails and web forum posts. Thirdly we will incorporate some aspect of the branding into the digital music scores we give away. We are a long way from having physical business cards and letterhead. I don't expect us ever to have physical product, but I suppose anything is possible.
