Seeking a Developer to Help With Card Game Website and Application for Facebook and iPhone

Description

We require an experienced developer to bring our card game to life online.

A brief description of the card game:

2-4 players

Normal 52 card deck minus the 2s, 3s and Jokers

Each match is played until one player tables a winning straight

Players lose and win points in each match

Points accumulate and determine the ranking of the player as well as the progression to higher levels.

Once enough players are registered, tournaments will be offered for a $3 entry fee. Tournaments will be won by elimination. The winner will receive a monetary prize and Grandmaster status.

(A more detailed description of the game will be provided once a proposal has been chosen).

There are three options we are considering and we would appreciate three corresponding proposals.

Option 1 – Simple Website and Facebook Application

• Build a simple website for the promotion and education of the card game and develop a Facebook application that people can use to play the card game online.

• The website will involve:

o An instructional video about the game

o Informational pages

o Link to Facebook game

o Ads

• Players should be able to play against the computer or play against other online opponents for fun, but to earn points and move up in levels a player must pay a $2 subscription fee or successfully recruit 2 new players.

• Each player should have a gaming profile that they can log into each time they want to play and resume the game with the same number of points they had last.

• Both the website and the Facebook application should have features that allow users to easily invite new people to play via Facebook, Twitter or Email.

Option 2 – Interactive Website and Facebook Application

• Build an interactive website that people can visit to play the online card game as well as a Facebook application.

• The website will involve…

o an instructional video about the game

o playing free trial games against the computer

o playing in live time against other online players

o include a constantly updated leader board listing the registered players with the most points

o link to Facebook application

o Ads

• Each player has a universal gaming profile that allows them to play on the website and Facebook with their points on each carrying over from one media to another. Possibly, use a player’s Facebook login as their game login or introduce a unique login so as not to alienate non-Facebook users.

• New website players may start with a free trial of 5 matches. Once the free trial ends, a player may purchase a subscription for $2 or successfully recruit 2 new players to begin playing.

• Both the website and the Facebook application should have features that allow users to easily invite new people to play via Facebook, Twitter or Email.

Option 3 – Interactive Website, Facebook Application and iPhone Application

• Build an interactive website that people can visit to play the online card game as well as a Facebook application and a two-part iPhone application

• The website and the two applications should have features that allow users to easily invite new people to play via Facebook, Twitter or Email.

• iPhone Application

o Version 1

 Free version with the ability to host ads in between matches

 Players can play against the computer or against online opponents, but cannot amass enough points to enter a tournament

o Version 2

 Players pay a $2 subscription fee to download the application without ads

 Players can play against the computer for fun or against online opponents for points

 Once a player reaches Level 5, they will be invited to play in the tournament

Please submit your proposal based on the 3 different options as well as your previous job experiences and portfolio. Full specifications will be discussed with serious candidates.
