Melariche is a new online makeup and skincare retailer for women of colour launching late August. We curate brands that embrace diversity – for us that means finding that brands that offer makeup in shades suitable for women with darker skin tones and also brands that address skin concerns that are more common amongst women of colour.
We are seeking a creative, driven, and experienced freelance content creator to drive our social media strategy, concentrating primarily on our Instagram and Pinterest platforms.
Overall, you will be responsible for:
• Producing and curating photography, infographics, short-form videos, and copy for Instagram and Pinterest
• Developing a calendar and execute posting/pinning across channels
• Proactively engaging with and building community
• Managing UGC collection and distribution
• Implementing best practices across channels (hashtag, tagging & posting strategies)
• Running giveaways and contests on social channels
• Reporting on channel performance and make strategic recommendations.
• Implementing content for paid promotion (ad buys) across social channel.
To be most effective in this role, you’ll need the following skills, knowledge & experience:
• 2-4 years of experience in content creation for Pinterest and Instragam, including proven experience in implementing strategies that increase followers and drive sales.
• BA or- equivalent work experience
• Expert proficiency in Instagram and Pinterest
• Photography Acumen
• Design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc) with a sophisticated aesthetic
• Extremely creative
• Exceptional copy-writing skills
• Interest and affinity for beauty products
• Familiarity with beauty trends
The position is on a freelance basis and requires a time commitment of up to 2 days per week, starting ASAP.
