As a data entry clerk you would update, maintain and retrieve information held on computer systems. You would also transfer information that is on paper to computer files. So if you enjoy working with computers and can type quickly this job could be ideal for you. To be a data entry clerk, you will need to have good maths and English skills. You’ll be able to work quickly and accurately, and pay attention to detail. You’ll also have excellent customer service skills. You will also probably need a basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Data Entry Clerk Job Duties: Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities. Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution. Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format. Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures. Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data. Tests customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data; reviewing output. Secures information by completing data base backups. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Hi, my name is Javed Graham and I'm here to tell you why I would be perfect for this Data Entry Clerk position. I have a few years experience working as a Customer care representative for Claro and data entry experience working for Windalco. I have experience working from home and for calling persons on a daily basis as I have worked as a virtual assistant before. Even though my bid says 40hours I will be available to work for you as many hours as you may require, so hours exceeding 50 is ok. Not to sound cliché but hard worker, determined and opened to criticism are just a few of the many qualities that you will receive if you were to hire me as a data entry clerk. I am able to multitask which will allow me to complete more tasks in a shorter given time, meaning more work that will cost you less. I am open to being in constant communication by phone, email or both, giving you access to live updates as we go along. This allows personalization as you may give your input.
