Target is to build a simple C# Windows desktop application. This application should run on background and monitor active chat window on the computer.
Application will have a simple UI (see the attachment), where user can:
1. Setup a "Nickname" which will be monitored on the active chat window
2. Setup a "Turn on code" (string, max 16 characters) which will be monitored to turn _on_ the status text
3. Setup a "Turn off code" (string, max 16 characters) which will be monitored to turn _off_ the status text
4. button to set (take in use) the new values (Nickname and code strings mentioned above)
5. Button for start and stop the application
Use-case:
User wants to monitor the active chat window on the computer. She wants to follow if a pre-specified "Nickname" types a pre-specified "Turn on code" or "Turn off code" to the chat window. If the pre-specified nickname types the "Turn on code", then the status text on the window will be set to "On". If the pre-specified nickname types the "Turn off code", then the status text on the window will be set to "Off".
Chat window can be e.g. Lync, Messenger or some web chat window. Idea is that the application would monitor the window which is currently active on the computer. It's users responsibility to setup the active chat window she wants to monitor.
So the above mentioned phase 1/2 is in scope of this project.
Here's some background information (not part of the project):
After phase 1/2 also phase 2/2 will be implemented. On Phase 2/2 an USB relay module will be added to the project, and instead of changing the text on the application window, the chat window can be used to turn on and off some real life devices over the chat. As said, phase 2/2 is not part of this project, but would be good if the same developer could continue the development also on the phase 2/2.
