Background: In the rapidly changing environment of IT opportunities for young entrepreneurs to emerge are great. Over the past few decades a great number of IT entrepreneurs have been spawned from university around the world. The objective of this assignment is to give you an overview of entrepreneurship and to identify and document the career of two IT entrepreneurs. Task: PART A: Research report on entrepreneurship Write a report on entrepreneurship based on the research you undertake. Include in your report answers to the following questions: • What is an entrepreneur? • What benefits does entrepreneurialism provide to society? • What personal characteristics if any does an entrepreneur possess? • How do entrepreneurs identify and exploit opportunities? 1. Use the readings provided as a guide. Research a minimum of 5 additional academic journal articles or texts on entrepreneurship. 2. Ensure proper citations are used in the report and attach a bibliography of material covered in your research. 3. Word length: 2,000 words excluding bibliography PART B: Case Study on IT entrepreneurs This part of the assignment requires you to identify two IT entrepreneurs and write a brief case study of their career. 1. Identify two IT entrepreneurs for your case study. Only one of your entrepreneurs can be from the following list, you do not have to choose any of these and can instead select your own IT entrepreneurs. Steve Jobs ‐ Apple Mark Zuckerberg ‐ Facebook Jack Ma – Alibaba Bill Hewlett ‐ HP Bill Gates ‐ Microsoft Larry Page ‐ Google Steve Wozniak – Apple Sergy Brin ‐ Google Mike Cannon‐Brooks ‐ Atlassian Scott Farquhar ‐ Atlassian Steven Speilberg – Dream Works Jeff Bezos – [login to view URL] 2.
