Hi there,

We need some logo / iconography ideas for a new social mobile app called "Octopus" we are launching in a few months.

Although we are somewhat open on this, it does need to be for social and cool tech influencers in their late 20s - REALLY cool, cutting-edge (2020), will not put off professional people, reflect the characteristics of the animal and the product. The kind of people who will know an octopus as an excellent dynamic creature, not a monster eating a whaling ship.

It can not be animated, cartoonish, childish, too techie, hipster, superhero-ish or too abstract.

Attributes coming out of user research include:

- Changeable, Colourful, Camouflage (be who you want to when you want)

- Evasive, Hiding (can be very private when it needs to be)

- Freedom, Explore, Mysterious (cool, independent)

- Multi-Tasking, Versatile (able to accomplish many tasks)

- Regenerative, Adaptable (can reinvent themselves)

- Intelligent, Distributed Neurona (brains/smarts spread out and not in one place)

- Wide-Reaching, Tentacles (can reach places you would not expect)

Running with a chosen logo could mean it will be used pretty much everywhere - and there could be other app, website site and off-line branding and design work coming out of it as well.

Thank you for all your entries, we are currently sorting through them all.

We have rejected any we felt didn't follow the brief, such as 'just an Octopus' icon, any that we're to cartoonish, childish or too aggressive - although some of those were really good (we gave a star just to say thanks).

We've also rejected any that we couldn't use as an app icon or use as a major part of our iconography, this could have been because there was too much detail that wouldn't compress well.

We've awarded 3 stars to any we thought were especially good and captured some of the animal traits or social media characteristics we discussed. We'll be using those 3 stars as our basis for refining the winner/s. Please feel free to refine your entry.

    Most of the entries are copied from google. I don't understand you guys why are you doing this? You don't care that the customer may have problems with copyrights? You will never rise up as designers acting like this !

      I agree totally with Sergiu, but at least in my case wasn't a copy and i work hard on my entry. In any case i'l try with another entry.
