Hi, My name is Joe, I'm the founder of Descendants Brewing Company in Milford, NJ. We are looking for a logo (badge) as well as a full name logo (our name written out and stylized). Our hope is that this project can lead to many others as we develop labeling and event marketing.

Our inspiration for Descendants comes from the ancestral stories that make us who we are today and how we got here. From a design standpoint we're inspired by 1800's Victorian/steampunk aspects particularly found in pre prohibition beer designs as well as the back sides of late 1800's photos/cabinet cards. We realize that our graphic design is extraordinarily important in growing our business.

Some elements that we like for the logo include:
Our name in antique/vintage type
The ancestral tree or some kind of broad tree

Possibly the name of our town - Milford, NJ
Possibly our slogan - What's Your Story?
Possibly some beer related imagery like grain (but not hops)

I will upload some pics of things we like (hopefully not too many)

Really hoping that freelancer is where we will find the look and feel that captures what inspires us and helps build our business.

For the tree images that I uploaded with the mountains and trees...the tree in particular that I like is the one on the bottom left...something about it's simplicity that I'm drawn to.

As silly as this is I referenced an article with this methodology in finding great brewery logos.

Is the logo distinct? A logo shouldn’t look like everything else out there. The branding has to stand on its own and be set apart from the competitors.
Is the logo readable? Not legible? Try again.
Is the logo versatile? A company’s logo should look good scaled up or down, and should work in color or in black and white.
Is the logo attractive? Because it MUST look super fly. No negotiation.
Is the logo timeless? If a logo looks dated to me now, in 5 or 10 years, that problem will just be compounded.

    have you not picked a winner yet ? aren't these things supposed to be guaranteed. hopefully you will announce some time soon. You could be mistaken for stealing the artwork without paying and have a local graphic shop reproduce. hopefully that is'nt the case and for what ever reason you've delayed any announcement.

    Hello designers, we chose to extend for 3 days which thankfully raises the prize for the great art we are discovering. We've narrowed our search down quite a bit now. Just small revisions we're interested in exploring. Also...we are curious to see a logo with the name "Descendants Brewing Company" across the trees trunk and above roots.     Hi artists. Thank you for so many really great s=designs. There are several we are strongly considering. To clarify our post...the logo is for Descendants Brewing Company. Our primary design elements are the name
    Descendants Brewing Company as well as the tree as our main identifiable centerpiece all in a late 1800's Victorian style. All other design elements are secondary but appreciated if incorporated in a clever way. Thanks everyone for the great work.
